The arcade machine kit for the Raspberry Pi is a fantastic way to play retro arcade games on your desktop. Unlike other arcade machines available this one comes with a Raspberry Pi 3 model B. Look no further for your next desktop project, this one is made for mashing and will keep anyone entertained for hours on end.
Ready to Play
Unlike other Raspberry Pi arcade machines, this one comes with a Raspberry Pi, power supply (UK plug) so that you can easily get right into retro gaming. There is no software setup. All of the controls have been assigned and are configured to work straight away so you don’t have to mess about coding or trawling through options before you can game.
Actual Arcade Equipment
The arcade joystick and concave arcade buttons are used in commercial arcade machines. They have a great tactile feel and satisfying click when contact is made. Tough and sturdy, the joystick and buttons are designed to take a lot of heavy use, they add a real arcade feel to tabletop gaming. You want to play games using a keyboard and mouse or controller? No problem, you can plug them into the USB ports accessible on the side of the machine.
Natural Wooden Case
The arcade machine is made from 3mm ply wood which can be modded by easily cutting new holes for more buttons or port holes for any other electronics you want to hide inside. The stylish natural wooden case comes unvarnished making this a perfect blank canvas that can be painted, sanded, stained, lacquered, laser etched, varnished or decorated in any way you see fit.
Arcade Display
The screen that comes with this kit is a 8 inch TFT LCD screen with a 4:3 ratio which perfectly fits classic arcade titles. The 800×600 HDMI display produces a super clear image, making text easy to read and games pop out from the screen.
Transferable components
This machine is specifically designed to operate as a fun, arcade style, gaming platform but you don’t have to limit yourself. Bored of playing games? The 8 inch LCD display has an HDMI connection and can be used as an alternative screen. The Raspberry Pi 3 model B that comes with the machine is not limited to just retro gaming and can run any other linux distribution operating systems you would like. There is an amplifier and speakers included that can also be used independently for other projects.
Easy to Build
This kit is easy to assemble and comes complete with all the necessary parts for a Raspberry Pi arcade experience. You get a Raspberry Pi 3 model B, microSD card with configured OS, amplifier and speakers, 8 inch TFT LCD display with driver board, all the cabling needed plus a power supply and custom designed laser cut ply wood panels that snuggly fit togther to form a sturdy arcade case.
